Van Gogh Persistence & Strength

In spite of everything I shall rise again:

In spite of everything I shall rise again: I will take up my pencil, which I have forsaken in my great discouragement, and I will go on with my drawing. 🌻Vincent Van Gogh🌻

Why am I writing from a quote by one of the world’s most famous sufferers? Because between times of great illness, he was able to see life with incredible clarity.🔍

He knew that even in the depths of despair there was a way back, literally into the light.🔦

He spent his life poor, wracked with illness and treated like a madman. No one saw him as the genius he was.

It’s sadly ironic, that during his lifetime he couldn’t give his paintings away. Today, some of his works are the most valuable 💲💲💲paintings ever created.

Van Gogh believed that whatever skill you possessed you were obliged to do that work to the best of your ability, ignoring public opinion.

Today we’re obessed with what others think about us.
Am I wearing the right clothes❓
Do my colleagues think I’m doing a good job❓
Do people think I’m too fat/thin/smart/dumb/ta//short…

We seem unable to do anything without worrying if “they” will like it…

We spend to much time stressing ourselves and even worse – trying to fit in. 🙄

Making sure we don’t stand out too much. Just in case someone thinks we’re trying too hard.👀

This is crazy yes you could drive yourself into a deep dark well of despair, if you keep following this line of thinking.

I hate to break this to you but everyone you know isn’t thinking about your new hairstyle, suit or your work ethic.

They’re too busy thinking about themselves and how they fit in.

They don’t have space in their busy heads to think about you, UNLESS you have something they want.

You can see this in every “conversation” 🗣- I’m using the term losely here…

Does the person really listen to what you’re saying or are they looking for a gap where they can start talking again❓

Because what they have to say is far more important than anything you could say.

I know you don’t do this.

You pay close attention to what the other person is saying🙂. Only when they have finished speaking do you think about your reply, then say it. Don’t you❓

Your life will become easier, less stressful, when you stop worrying about what others are thinking about you.

Do this for a week.

The results of this little experiment will suprise you😲

Let me know how you get on.
