Mindset Coach Growth & Imposter Syndrome

We delight in the beauty of the butterfly…

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”

Maya Angelou.

You know that if you help a butterfly escape it’s chrysalis – you might kill it?

For a host of reasons, the butterfly must get out on it’s own when the time is right.

Some people see this as a metaphor of the struggles we need to overcome in order to learn and grow.

Sadly most people don’t see this. They focus on the beauty of the butterfly, how fragile yet strong it is.

People don’t want to know about the changes it’s had to go through in order to present the world with it’s beauty and grace.

Today we look for the way to instant success. Celebs and other successful people “must” have found an easy way in.

A hack or special handshake that got them to where they are today.

The biggest insult a successful woman hears is that “she must have slept her way to the top.”

The haters who say this don’t want to know about the years of hard work and long hours it took her to reach number one. They’re probably too busy trying to find their next get rich quick scheme because they can’t see the truth.

There is no such thing as overnight success. Even the unknown person who wins “Britain’s Got Talent” has probably been singing and gigging for many years.

But we don’t see that.

We see that last week they were working as a receptionist and today they’ve signed a large record deal.

The funny thing is anyone can become successful if they put their mind to it.

You might not have the talent to win a reality TV contest – but you could become the best sales person in your region or the mechanic everyone wants to fix their cars. Just make sure you do something that you love.

It’ll happy when you’re ready, at the right time – just like the butterfly.

It’s a simple process. Do the work, learn from your mistakes, do more work. Learn, study, work. Rinse and repeat.

Never stop learning and never stop working.

The world’s most successful people, are lifelong learners and never stop working towards achieving their goals.

That’s right, even those at the top of the tree have goals and dreams they still want to achieve. Sitting around watching TV and eating junk food all day, isn’t one of them.
